In addition to the Panel Parity Pledge, each Gender Champion makes two individual annual commitments specific to moving gender equality forward in their organization.

I will set ambitious annual targets for the appointment of more women to Head and Deputy Head of Mission positions in UN peace operations in the field, with a view to reaching gender parity among these senior leadership positions no later than 31 December 2021.

Conduct a staff survey to monitor levels of awareness and perceptions in relation to gender equality.

Fostering an equitable, diverse and inclusive work environment through cross-functional initiatives, such as training on diversity, inclusive leadership and unconscious bias.

Seek gender balance in our staff and in our network of collaborating researchers.

Promote gender awareness at the Permanent Mission by encouraging personnel to take the Harvard test on unconscious bias and gender.

Championing to ensure that World Sailing committees and panels are of mixed gender.

Promote gender parity/equality in all public statements that we make in appropriate forums (HRC, UNHCR, UN ECE, WIPO).

Zero tolerance to any form of sexual harrasment or questionable behaviour.

I am committed to lead UNOPS to achieve the equal representation of men and women across our workforce, irrespective of levels – by 2020.

I am committed to lead UNOPS to meet the targets set by the Secretary-General’s UN System-Wide Strategy on Gender Parity.
