Gender equality is a core Australian value, and it is central to our international engagement. It should also be a core value of the international rules-based system we strive for. In our Indo-Pacific region, and globally, we need to ensure gender equality. Because it makes for better lives and for a better world.

Personal Commitments
Actively promote gender equality and the elimination of sexual and gender-based violence across international legal bodies and international organisations, through active engagement in governance initiatives at the ICC and OPCW, including co-chairing the complementarity and SGBC facilitation at the ICC.
Ensure the staff at the Australian Embassy in The Netherlands promote gender parity and geographic diversity on speaking panels by requesting equitable gender and geographic representation in public speaking engagements.
