Masahiko Metoki

As the Director General of the Universal Postal Union, I wholeheartedly commit to promoting and advancing gender equality within the postal sector. We recognize that gender equality is not just a goal, but a fundamental human right. By creating an inclusive and supportive environment, we can harness the talents and potential of women in the postal industry and empower them to achieve their full potential. Together, let us break down barriers, challenge biases, and build a future where gender equality prevails in every aspect of the postal sector.

I support the IGC Panel Parity Pledge.

I support the IGC gender-based violence pledge.

Personal Commitments

I commit to applying the Panel Parity Pledge across the UPU, ensuring equal representation and participation of both men and women, in order to create a more equitable and inclusive environment, and to enable diverse perspectives and experiences to shape discussions and decision-making processes.
I commit to developing and adopting a gender parity policy that encompasses clear goals, rigorous monitoring procedures, and robust accountability measures. This policy will also integrate measures to ensure equal opportunities, eliminate gender-based discrimination, and encourage the empowerment and advancement of women in our institution. By adopting and rigorously implementing this policy, we seek to create a workplace that fosters equality, diversity, and inclusivity.
