In the context of the Women, Peace and Security month, the Permanent Mission of Switzerland to the United Nations in New York with the International Gender Champions Network and the support of the United Nations Office of the Victims’ Rights Advocate, UNICEF and UN Women is pleased to invite you to a high-level event presenting the Theatre “FIT FOR PSEAH?”, an interactive awareness-raising theatre for prevention and action regarding sexual exploitation, abuse and harassment (PSEAH), followed by a reception, on Monday, October 9, 2023 at 6.15 p.m. – 8.00 p.m. at UNICEF premises, 3 United Nations Plaza, New York, NY 10017.

SEAH can happen anywhere and at any time. Every institution, including the UN, diplomatic missions and NGOs, need to be able to react immediately and appropriately when they encounter SEAH in their direct working environment or by their contractual partners. But how can we recognize sexual harassment or even abuse? What can and must we do when encountering such situations? Is there an obligation to report?

The objectives of this theatre are to raise awareness on PSEAH through an innovative training methodology promoting dialogue and interaction. Furthermore, it shall provide an opportunity to reflect upon immediate and adequate responses, whether as a victim, survivor, bystander or manager. The performers will present SEAH situations from everyday working life and, together with the audience, explore questions and avenues for actions in this context.

Please be advised that this invitation is to the attention of Permanent Representatives and Gender Champions in New York and is not transferable.
