Carol Bellamy, Chair of the Governing Board of the Global Community Engagement and Resilience Fund

Organised by the Graduate Institute’s Centre on Gender and Global Change and the Global Community Engagement and Resilience Fund (GCERF)

The new United Nations Plan of Action to Prevent Violent Extremism urges member states to mainstream gender in PVE efforts, calling on them to "invest in gender-sensitive research and data collection on women's roles in violent extremism, including on identifying the drivers that lead women to join violent extremist groups.”  The urgent challenge is to translate those good intentions into actions.
