Gender equality is essential for creating successful and stable societies which provide opportunities for all as well as a basis for peaceful relations between states. We need to actively advocate for gender equality every day, including by setting examples in our multilateral engagements.
I support the IGC Panel Parity Pledge.
I support the IGC gender-based violence pledge.
Personal Commitments
Promote gender balance and the prevention of sexual exploitation, abuse and harassment within Geneva-based partner organizations and follow-up regularly on concrete actions taken.
Encourage the inclusion of key messages related to women’s rights, gender and diversity; sexual and reproductive health and rights; women, peace and security; and combating sexual and gender-based violence, in all relevant work of the Mission and, twice a year, take stock of progress made. Engage with organizers of events to ensure gender balance and pledge to make participation in such events conditional on this.
