Eliminating war crimes and crimes against humanity--the worst things people do to one another--must be everyone's concern. There is no room for gender inequality in bringing perpetrators of such atrocities to account, and deterring others from committing these crimes. I am proud that the Justice Rapid Response roster of criminal justice and human rights professionals is not just gender-balanced, but has a majority of women. I am also proud that with our partners, we have been able to provide the international community with rapidly deployable, highly trained expertise to improve the quality of investigations of sexual and gender-based violence in conflict situations. This has already resulted in a paradigm shift in bringing credible accountability for atrocity crimes against women and girls.

I support the IGC Panel Parity Pledge.
