According to a well-known Slovenian saying, it is women who hold up "three corners of the house". However, despite their critical contribution to society, gender equality is not yet a reality in any country in the world. It is therefore also up to men, both individually and collectively, to help in breaking down the artificial barriers and glass ceilings that still confront women. By championing equal fatherhood in family life and defeminizing work-life balance processes, men can engage in overcoming traditional gender roles and act as important allies and agents of meaningful and mutually beneficial change
I commit to undertake the following:
Strive for a balance of work and family life, also by ensuring that meetings are not held in early mornings or late afternoons.
Promote gender awareness by having the entire staff of the Slovenian Mission in Vienna take Harvard implicit association tests on "Gender-Career" and "Gender-Science".
