As Gender Champion, I pledge to support efforts to improve gender parity in UN Peace Operations, starting with the leadership level. Our efforts will include greater outreach, addressing unconscious gender bias, strengthening selection processes and enhancing leadership support, to achieve results in a timely manner.
I commit to undertake the following:
I will ensure that all Senior Managers in the Department of Field Support have completed Gender Bias training by the end of 2018.
I will set ambitious annual targets for the appointment of more women to Head and Deputy Head of Mission positions in UN peace operations in the field, with a view to reaching gender parity among these senior leadership positions no later than 31 December 2021.
