Beti Jacheva

While we have made considerable steps in ensuring gender balance, the goal of lasting transformation still lies ahead. I believe it is part of our responsibility to advocate for awareness and lead by example, with a hope to inspire the others. As the Ambassador of North Macedonia to the Netherlands and Permanent Representative to the OPCW and to the other multilateral organizations, I am actively advocating, supporting, cooperating and promoting gender equality in all aspects of my work, including in the multilateral setting.

I support the IGC Panel Parity Pledge.

I support the IGC gender-based violence pledge.

Personal Commitments

Raising awareness of the importance of gender equality within the scope of my diplomatic activities, including in our national statements, during participation in various panels, and especially in my talks with students and young people in various settings.
I commit to support and advocate for all initiatives and processes in multilateral organizations in the Hague aimed at improving gender equality, as well as raising awareness on harassment and unconscious bias. This will include, and will not be limited to, promoting participation of female candidates in different courses organized by OPCW, supporting the efforts of the ICC for implementation of the first Strategy of the ICC on Gender Equality and Workplace Culture. I will also actively promote the International Day of Women in Diplomacy, celebrated on 24 of June, by bringing up the successes and the challenges that remain in ensuring gender parity in diplomatic roles worldwide.
