Charlotte Stemmer
Head of Geneva Office and UN Representative,
Plan International
I believe that transforming gender and power relations, and the structures that underpin them, is critical to ending inequality. We must tackle intersecting systems of oppression to realise gender equality and to protect, promote and realise the rights of women and girls.
I support the IGC Panel Parity Pledge.
I support the IGC gender-based violence pledge.
Personal Commitments
Engage with youth leaders, building relationships, sharing power and space, and creating opportunities for their voices and leadership in UN policy-making spaces. With my team, I will ensure we support young people to participate meaningfully in at least three global policy making spaces throughout 2024.
Apply an intersectional feminist approach to my leadership and promote a more caring and compassionate workplace. I will take Plan’s internal training on Power, Privilege and Bias and create time in team meetings for all the office staff to reflect on how we are all implementing this in our work.
