Under Secretary-General, Office of the Special Coordinator on Improving UN Response to Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (OSCSEA)
Christian F. Saunders

The fact that gender equality, which is a human right, is still an issue today is indefensible! Gender equality has long been recognized as an essential element to the sustainable development of our societies, and a more equitable world can only be achieved with the empowerment and full participation of women. Gender equality, is a core principle in all aspects of the work of the United Nations and is also essential to tackling sexual exploitation and abuse. I am committed to help create a world where girls, boys, women and men are of equal standing and can thrive and prosper free from the fear that they will be subjected to gender based violence.

I support the IGC Panel Parity Pledge.

I support the IGC gender-based violence pledge.

Personal Commitments

OSCSEA will advocate at every opportunity with Member States and the Aid community to strengthen their efforts to prevent and respond to sexual and gender-based violence through increased resourcing, improved coordination and cooperation, capacity building and the deployment of dedicated specialists - through victims/survivors centered approaches.
I will work for the protection and realization of equal rights for women and girls at every opportunity, in particular by engaging men and boys in the fight for equality and in ending violence against women and girls.
