Christina Kokkinakis

Times change, barriers still exist. To overcome them, our societies and institutions need to focus on two points:

First, support and empower young women in multilateral diplomacy. Women’s involvement in multilateralism leads to longer-lasting peace.

Second, we must foster societies where men and women are treated equally.

The EU’s commitment to human rights and gender equality is non-negotiable.

I support the IGC Panel Parity Pledge.

I support the IGC gender-based violence pledge.

Personal Commitments

As part of my commitment to promoting gender equality and women’s leadership in multilateral settings, the EU Delegation will provide a platform for informal exchange among prominent female diplomats from both the OECD and UNESCO communities. My objective is to actively foster an inclusive and supportive environment in Paris where female ambassadors to international organisations can connect, share experiences, and engage in meaningful dialogue. Through these exchanges, I aim to strengthen networks, promote mutual learning, and empower women in leadership roles within the international diplomatic community.
As part of my second commitment, I will raise awareness by developing targeted social media content and producing impactful video messages designed to enhance the visibility of women in multilateral diplomacy. Recognising the importance of collective action, I will actively encourage my female colleagues to engage in similar projects and campaigns, helping to broaden the reach and impact of these messages. This includes promoting key events such as the International Day of Women in Multilateral Diplomacy, as well as other initiatives that celebrate and highlight the valuable contributions of women in this field. Through these efforts, I aim to foster a stronger, more inclusive dialogue around gender equality within international diplomacy.
