Corinne Cicéron Bühler

In my opinion there are two things needed to achieve diversity and gender equality: leaders’ awareness on the one hand, and boldness of the new generation on the other. As leaders, we have the increased responsibility to promote awareness and lead by example. I am honored to be the first female Swiss Ambassador in the Netherlands and committed to enhance diversity (in gender, language and education) in my team as it leads to more efficient and creative work. The new generation has also an active role to play: to dare and to try, without being confined by self-censorship when opportunities arise. Let us walk the talk to create together new perspectives and a more balanced future!

I support the IGC Panel Parity Pledge.

I support the IGC gender-based violence pledge.

Personal Commitments

I commit to host an internal staff discussion on the Women, Peace and Security agenda, featuring an expert from the Peace and Human Rights Division (AFM) of the Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (FDFA), with the aim of deepening institutional understanding of current challenges and identifying concrete avenues for future action in The Hague.
I commit to convene a high-level discussion in The Hague on the gendered implications of sanctions regimes for international judges and legal professionals, with particular attention to their impact on women in judicial leadership positions.
