Kofi Annan said “Gender equality is more than a goal in itself. It is a precondition for meeting the challenge of reducing poverty, promoting sustainable development and building good governance” . This holds true for his Foundation, and we are committed to ensuring that diversity, inclusion and gender equality are at the core of everything we do.
External action for gender-responsive communications: Create a 'Gender' sub-section on the KAF webpage to advocate for gender equality and through the programmatic lenses on peace, youth and democracy, highlight the different needs and experiences of marginalized and young women in peace, reconciliation, political participation and violent extremism.
Internal commitment for promoting diversity: Facilitate awareness-raising and training to staff, focusing, in particular, on assumptions and implicit bias towards different people and groups based on their gender, age, race, disability or background.
