Dominic O'Neill
Executive Director, The UN's Sanitation and Hygiene Fund
Dominic O'Neill

Women are half the world’s population, and economy. As they lift communities and countries, they deserve sustainable access to safe, quality and affordable sanitation, hygiene and menstrual health, wherever they may be. I am proud to lead the UN's Sanitation and Hygiene Fund (SHF) to bring a much-needed gender investment lens into sanitation, hygiene and menstrual health financing, putting women's agenda and agency first to create an inclusive, sustainable and gender-equal future for all.

I support the IGC Panel Parity Pledge.

I support the IGC gender-based violence pledge.

Personal Commitments

SHF will commission a thorough review of our gender work and work with the team to deliver on key recommendations to strengthen our gender principles, policies and impact through 2025.
SHF will ensure a gender lens and clear commitments to gender transformative policy on sanitation and menstrual health markets in all our technical support to partner governments in 2025 and report the impact of this work in our public annual report.
