Dominic O'Neill
Executive Director,
The UN's Sanitation and Hygiene Fund
Women are half the world’s population, and economy. As they lift communities and countries, they deserve sustainable access to safe, quality and affordable sanitation, hygiene and menstrual health, wherever they may be. I am proud to lead the UN's Sanitation and Hygiene Fund (SHF) to bring a much-needed gender investment lens into sanitation, hygiene and menstrual health financing, putting women's agenda and agency first to create an inclusive, sustainable and gender-equal future for all.
I support the IGC Panel Parity Pledge.
I support the IGC gender-based violence pledge.
Personal Commitments
Consistently amplify the importance of gender equality, raise awareness of structural inequalities, bias and barriers, especially as relates to access to sanitation, hygiene and menstrual health in public presentations and on at least 2 SHF-led global platforms/fora in a year;
Lead efforts to embed gender equality in SHF in particular at the organizational level as relates to championing measures that promote a performance evaluation model free of gender bias, facilitate work-life balance and equip all members to actively be aware of, prevent and report any harassment in line with the UNOPS strategy on prevention of sexual harassment, sexual abuse and exploitation.
