Eleanor Sanders
Ambassador for Human Rights, Permanent Mission of the United Kingdom to the United Nations in Geneva
Eleanor Sanders

I am honoured to become International Gender Champion. My role as Human Rights Ambassador is about protecting and promoting human rights - that gives me an excellent platform to promote equality and respect between genders, whether internationally or within our own organisations. This is fundamental to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals and to most international priorities, but also to day-to-day life. This agenda rightly prioritises women and girls, but it is ultimately about everyone - and if we want to get it right, we need to champion equality for all - regardless of ethnicity, religion, sexuality, disability or socio-economic background - as part of the same effort.

I support the IGC Panel Parity Pledge.

I support the IGC gender-based violence pledge.

Personal Commitments

I pledge to use my role to raise awareness of gender-based discrimination and violence that takes place online.
I commit to promote better consciousness of periods, fertility and menopause among the international organisations and delegations in Geneva.
