Erica Schouten

Gender equality is advancing, but at a far too slow pace. Achieving gender equality must therefore remain a priority. As a matter of basic human rights, and because equal rights are important for building safe, peaceful and prosperous societies. We need to apply a gender lens to all our work in Geneva to ensure that multilateral cooperation delivers real progress for all women and girls everywhere.

I support the IGC Panel Parity Pledge.

I support the IGC gender-based violence pledge.

Personal Commitments

I commit to organising dedicated dialogues on gender equality with counterparts from countries across all regions and the international organisations represented in Geneva to foster broader political support for gender equality.
To support young women in multilateral Geneva, I commit to organising an annual mentoring event, bringing together women in leadership positions and young women, to share insights and learn from each other’s experiences.
