Under-Secretary-General for the Least Developed Countries, Landlocked Developing Countries and Small Island Developing States, United Nations
Fekitamoeloa Katoa 'Utoikamanu

The voices of women in vulnerable countries must be heard and must be amplified at the international level. They play vital roles in their societies and economies. I pledge to make these voices heard and advocate strongly that safe and empowering environments must be put in place so that the future allows all girls, regardless of which country they are born in, to enjoy equal human rights and bright futures.

I support the IGC Panel Parity Pledge.
  • Listening is at the core of effective advocating. I will be a strong advocate based on meeting with and listening to female students, entrepreneurs, civil society representatives and officials. I want to learn from their work, perspectives and experiences. I commit to making their voices heard in all I do and say and will highlight their experiences at the highest possible levels.

  • Youth is critical to creating the shared future we want. I will do my utmost to see young women from least developed countries, landlocked developing countries and small island developing states fully participate in the work of the United Nations. I will encourage them to participate in the UN secretariat’s Young Professional Programme.
