I think we should remember, with the United Nations having adopted the Sustainable Development Goals, that one of those goals is to achieve gender equality with a target, in particular, for women to gain equal rights to economic resources and access to ownership and control over property. And property, of course, includes intellectual property.
I commit to undertake the following:
Provide individualized support for career and professional development to a minimum of five women per year between P3 and P5 levels at WIPO, prioritizing those with supervisory responsibilities.
Increase the percentage of the operational units at WIPO that substantively complete the gender marker coding in the annual workplans from 20% in December 2017 to 40% by the end of 2018.
