Promoting women and girls’ empowerment and defending their rights has been a common thread throughout my career. Because a sustainable and prosperous future for all depends on everyone enjoying equal rights. Having a gender perspective is an integral part of all my endeavors, and I am fully committed to continue the longstanding Danish leadership role in promoting gender equality, addressing barriers for women and girls’ enjoyment of their full rights and combatting any forms of sexual and gender based violence and sexual exploitation, abuse and harassment. I am looking forward to work with all partners within and beyond the UN system towards this common goal.

Personal Commitments

Promote gender transformative approaches and follow-up in partner organizations’ normative and operational work, and integrate key messages related to women’s rights, gender and diversity; sexual and reproductive health and rights; women, peace and security; and combating sexual and gender based violence, in all relevant work of the Mission.
Encourage Geneva headquartered partner organizations to promote gender balance and work-life balance at all levels, and request regular updates on plans and resources allocated to prevent and respond to sexual exploitation, abuse and harassment.
