I believe that a gender equal world is achievable but it doesn’t happen without our collective continuous efforts. I pledge that Denmark will continue to lead the way for a more gender equal world and that I, in my daily work, will be mindful of how to promote gender balance in the Permanent Mission of Denmark to the United Nations and within the UN-system.
I commit to undertake the following:
In our dialogue with, and in governing boards of, international organisations in New York, encourage organisations to: a) attain gender balance at management levels (P5 or equivalent and above) through both short- and long term measures, including the creation of a more conducive work environment, b) integrate the gender dimension in programmes, policies, normative and operational work.
Promote work-family life balance through: a) early information and advance notice of meetings to enhance predictability and planning, and b) avoid calling meetings taking place during evenings, weekends and public holidays.
