Promoting gender equality in peacekeeping makes our missions more effective and efficient.
I commit to undertake the following:
Introduce an awareness-raising training on gender bias for senior staff in DPKO and UN peacekeeping missions to contribute to making DPKO and peacekeeping missions a more enabling and conducive workplace for both women and men.
Hold at least one high-level event on women, peace and security-related matters per year. Chair quarterly gender task force meetings to track progress in implementing gender and women, peace and security mandates, and hold a series of meetings with women staff members to address challenges they face in their daily work environment in the Department of Peacekeeping Operations (DPKO) as well as in peacekeeping operations.
