Promoting gender equality in peacekeeping makes our missions more effective and efficient.
I support the IGC Panel Parity Pledge.
I support the IGC gender-based violence pledge.
1. I will prioritize the implementation of gender equality and women, peace and security mandates, in particular women’s full, equal and meaningful participation in peace processes and political transitions, the systemic integration of gender in all aspects of peacekeeping and to increase the number of uniformed women in peacekeeping. To this end, I commit to promoting the use of digitalized and data-driven approaches, gender analysis and partnerships and collaborations with diverse women networks; as a basis for decision-making in my Department.
2. I will continue to prioritize the creation of an enabling work environment in my department for all staff members, regardless of their sex, gender identity, race, nationality, disability, sexual orientation, etc. through monitoring of trends and issues, senior leadership engagement, and regular communications to and engagements with staff in the context of the departmental Building Our Pillar initiative for organizational culture change.
