Personal Commitments

By December 2025, under my leadership, the Institution will adopt a comprehensive Gender strategy, guided by the principles of inclusivity and non-discrimination in line with General Assembly resolution 77/301 and its mandate. The strategy will ensure gender-sensitive and transformative approaches across all activities, integrate regular gender analysis, strengthen the participation of women, girls and sexual minorities, engage with women’s organizations, and implement gender-responsive measures in recruitment and leadership to ensure that at least 50 per cent of new staff are women and to advance parity in decision-making positions.
Establishing a Gender-Responsive Participation Mechanism: By March 2026, the IIMP will establish a structured mechanism for the participation of women relatives of the disappeared, ensuring that their specific needs and perspectives in Syria and neighboring countries are systematically integrated into the institution’s recommendations, activities, and engagement with stakeholders.
