Director-General,

Steering Committee
In 2026, no country in the world has achieved full gender equality. Across the globe, women’s rights remain fragile – if not openly challenged or threatened. This is why Gender Equality remains a UNESCO Global Priority. I commit to continuing and strengthening our work in education — because every girl has the right to learn and shape her future. I also commit to challenging inequalities, discrimination and impunity for violence, focusing on new forms of exclusion emerging in the digital sphere.
I support the IGC Panel Parity Pledge.
I support the IGC gender-based violence pledge.
Personal Commitments
By 2029, I will ensure that 32 countries take action to make schools safer, protecting learners from gender-based violence.
By 2029, I will ensure that 120 countries are accompanied in developing and implementing ethical AI governance frameworks incorporating gender equality, building on the 2021 Recommendation on the Ethics of AI.
