Kumar Iyer

I am proud of joining this initiative as an International Gender Champion as it closely aligns with the United Kingdom’s commitment to advancing gender equality and fighting violence against women and girls. Geneva is at the heart of efforts to promote the rights, empowerment and full participation of women and girls in all areas of society.

I look forward to pursuing a gender perspective across my work and the UK Mission’s initiatives. I believe that achieving gender equality is essential to building more inclusive, peaceful and prosperous societies.

As part of this commitment, I will support practical actions that drive change, including fostering inclusive leadership and partnerships that advance equality for all.

I support the IGC Panel Parity Pledge.

I support the IGC gender-based violence pledge.

Personal Commitments

I promise to champion the importance of increasing access to menstrual health products for the 615 million women and girls who don’t have access to them. This includes specifically working with the WTO, WCO and ISO to establish HS Codes and improve health and safety standards so that safe products can be tracked and reached.
To continue to champion women’s and girls’ rights including sexual and reproductive health and rights amidst the pushback across the multilateral system by continuing to engage with women and girls directly impacted and work with diverse partners to protect and advance their rights in the next year.
