The contribution of women to the security of nuclear and other radioactive material, is profound. However, barriers to their full participation remain in place. I will use all of our programmes to ensure that these barriers are brought down, one by one, so together we achieve gender equality, not in the long term but in the short term. It is only when we ensure diversity in the context of nuclear security that we get a full and good view of the many angles of what is risky and what it is we need to protect. In short, gender parity makes nuclear security better!
I support the IGC Panel Parity Pledge.
