Viet Nam has consistently promoted gender equality and implemented laws and policies towards achieving SDG Goal 5 on gender equality and women’s empowerment. Having worked in advancing gender equality for many years, I am proud that the Vietnamese women have increasingly played important role throughout the country’s history of national defense and development. I believe that ensuring gender equality is the responsibility of all in every family and country and the whole international community, and meaningful progress on gender equality will ensure the achievement of all SDGs. In joining the IGC, I shall continue to work for mainstreaming gender equality and promoting empowerment of women and girls in all work, initiatives, and activities during my tenure here in international Geneva.
