I am motivated to become an International Gender Champion to challenge gender inequality and promote efforts to allow women and men to maximise their potential. Such efforts will contribute towards a society which is not only fairer but works better for everyone.
Lead the Permanent Mission to work with relevant UK departments to include gender into any new strategy related to UK engagement with the Vienna-Based Organisations, so as to ensure that gender perspectives are mainstreamed throughout policy, programmatic activity and issues related to human resources (e.g. gender parity); and to showcase, through a series of events, the recent UK/UNODC initiative to develop a Serious Organised Crime strategy toolkit for Member States, which addresses gender and human rights.
Oversee an internal audit of the UK Mission’s activities on gender by June 2021 and use it to identify gaps and produce gender charter. In parallel carry out overview on how the UK can support Vienna Based Organisations on gender (parity/mainstreaming) issues, and identify one issue that the UK can champion in the second half of the year.
