Gender parity is more important now than ever - the COVID-19 pandemic has exacerbated existing inequalities for women and girls, and slowed progress made in this area. To lead with intent towards gender parity is to enable and strive for sustainable development that is inclusive, diverse and welcomes vulnerable children and communities as key participants in building their own futures, where equal opportunity is the norm. We must protect, empower and deliver on gender parity goals.
I support the IGC Panel Parity Pledge.
I support the IGC gender-based violence pledge.
Personal Commitments
I will communicate the importance of gender equality and amplify the voices of girls through the campaign, It Takes a World to End Violence Against Children, for instance ending child marriage and sexual and gender-based violence in 2023.
I will advocate for the protection and realisation of the equal rights of women and girls in speeches, statements and remarks and in all forms of media throughout 2023.
