The demands of globalisation and ongoing technological change call for qualified labour force. Considering that women represent at least half of the world's potential human resource, women's economic empowerment is an integral part of any effective response. Unlocking potential in the labour market requires addressing the constrained employment prospects for women.
I commit to undertake the following:
Ensure, as the Secretary of the Employers' Group of the ILO, equal gender distribution of Spokespersons' roles in the various ILO debates and stimulate the discussion that country delegations at the ILO should consist of minimum 30% women. In 2018 I commit not to participate in any panels that do not have at least one other female panel member.
Raise awareness of member employers' organisations and partner companies on the importance of gender parity through guidance materials and events and facilitate mutual sharing of experiences.
