Gender equality and women’s empowerment are issues very close to my heart. Women and girls are the ‘human face’ of cities and we must have equal opportunities for all and enjoy good quality of life.
I commit that UN-Habitat will achieve its 50/50 Gender Parity targets in the agreed timeframe, by actively promoting and encouraging the professional development of all female staff using all measures available. Particularly, to offer equal opportunities for their own career development leading to increased female representation at higher levels.
I commit to ZERO tolerance in Sexual Harassment in UN-Habitat. I promise that every colleague in UN-Habitat, particularly those in regional and country offices, will have clear and safe channels to raise issues relating to sexual harassment in the workplace. We will provide clarity on where and who to speak to, with a promise of action on confirmed cases.
