Gender equality for Defence practitioners before International Criminal Tribunals, and for those whom they represent, should be a given; but we have time-and-again seen disparities so significant that they impact fundamental human rights. It is in our everyday decisions and individual actions that we will make the most steady strides toward gender parity. I am firmly committed to taking these daily steps -- through listening, learning, and acting -- to ensure that our aspirations for full inclusivity in the international Defence community are ever closer.
