Gender equality must become a reality within my lifetime. Ideally all over the planet. Otherwise we are only seeing half the sky. Whatever I can contribute to that, I will attempt to do. And it is good to know so many likeminded supporters in this endeavour. Girls´ education and reproductive rights are therefore naturally very close to my heart. Gender equality is not an option, it is a mandate to empower others and let them shine.

Personal Commitments
Women must play an active and equal role at all levels of decision-making from conflict prevention and management to peace negotiations, peacebuilding, and international peace operations. To advance this goal, I commit to advocating for meaningful and sustained female participation as a core pillar of durable peace and effective foreign policy, including my engagement in at least one major event in 2026 focused on women, peace and security.
I commit to continue to prominently feature the voices of women and youth smallholder farmers in the BKMF's advocacy work and at major conferences on climate adaptation and provide strong visibility on their urgent need to build climate resilience through the BKMF's outreach and social media activities.
