There is no country in the world that has achieved full gender equality. Despite all our good intentions and all the work undertaken to ensure equal rights for all, more needs to be done. To achieve meaningful change and achieve SDG Goal 5 on gender equality and women’s empowerment, we need to work together more effectively, also in Geneva. I believe it is important to break silos and ensure that all human rights, humanitarian, trade, health and disarmament initiatives aimed at promoting gender equality are mutually reinforcing and effective, also on the ground.
