Gender equality is not about taking away rights that men and boys currently enjoy. It is simply about having a fully inclusive society where all will have access to equal opportunities, irrespective of gender or sexual orientation. The world will benefit on so many levels if everyone were given the opportunity to develop their full potential. We need to engage men and boys, and we need them to be our allies. Education is the main key to achieving this objective. It is also the best tool to break stereotypes and outdated mentalities. As an International Gender Champion, I am committed to challenge these stereotypes and to lead by example.

I support the IGC Panel Parity Pledge.

I support the IGC gender-based violence pledge.

Personal Commitments

I will continue working to build and advocate for a more inclusive and supportive working environment, by allowing for flexible working arrangements, respecting the right to disconnect, and adopting family-friendly measures such as remote-working when necessary for personal reasons. This will serve to foster a stronger support network to bolster all members of the Permanent Mission, as we acknowledge the various personal challenges that each individual may face, within this line of work.
The current pandemic permitting, I undertake to organise a network/outreach event in the coming year, featuring fellow Vienna-based International Gender Champions, Heads of Missions, leaders within international organizations as well as within the local community, in order to engage in an informal exchange of ideas on actions and means of collaboration on potential projects which could serve to advance gender equality. This event would also serve to mobilize more local leaders to become International Gender Champions, and thusly expand this beneficial network.
