Gender equality is not about taking away rights that men and boys currently enjoy. It is simply about having a fully inclusive society where all will have access to equal opportunities, irrespective of gender or sexual orientation. The world will benefit on so many levels if everyone were given the opportunity to develop their full potential. We need to engage men and boys, and we need them to be our allies. Education is the main key to achieving this objective. It is also the best tool to break stereotypes and outdated mentalities. As an International Gender Champion, I am committed to challenge these stereotypes and to lead by example.

I support the IGC Panel Parity Pledge.

I support the IGC gender-based violence pledge.

Personal Commitments

I will organize a gender-related awareness-raising event during the coming year. We will seek to incorporate various actors and stakeholders, from across the different international fora such as the IGC, as well as key actors present in our host country. I will also strive to ensure that the panel is diverse and inclusive to promote panel parity and regional representation.
I will continue working to give flexible working arrangements including patterns of work and location of work, priority. I will strive to build on initiatives and measures introduced over the past year, to help staff maintain a healthy work-life balance. These will include the re-evaluation and re-distribution of workloads as needed in order to maximise efficiency, bolstering administrative systems and resources to allow for assistance in terms of multi-tasking and remote-working. In view of the fact that the Embassy staff is such a small team, measures will nonetheless be adapted according to the needs and situation of each individual.
