Gender equality is fundamental to achieving the full potential of our societies, our organisations and our own personal lives.  It is one objective, which if achieved, would transform all aspects of our lives for the better.  Yet progress to date has been slow and uneven. Without a wholly different level of commitment, we can no long take for granted that progress can be sustained, let alone accelerated.
