As the Executive Director of Justice Rapid Response, I am proud of the many ways JRR is committed to advancing gender parity in the international justice arena. Not only are JRR experts improving the quality of investigations of sexual and gender-based violence in conflict situations, but the JRR Roster itself is comprised of more than 50% women. I am pleased that the JRR Roster continues to be widely used by the international community in its efforts to create more inclusive and gender-sensitive approaches to justice for the worst crimes known to humanity.
Further improve gender balance in Justice Rapid Response’s work, by achieving a minimum of 50% of deployments by women experts at the end of 2021.
Ensure that in 2021, at least 80% of our deployments will include the investigation of Sexual and Gender-based Violence in conflict or the integration of gender considerations in the documentation of international crimes and serious human rights violations.
