We often say that gender equality is a prerequisite and driver of development and progress. While true, I believe that gender equality is much more than a precondition. Gender equality is an ethical imperative to be achieved. We all, women, and men need to strive to eliminate the bias surrounding the gender discourse and to make sure that the concept of equality is an intrinsic part of our policies, decisions, and actions.
