Pascale Baeriswyl
Ambassador and Permanent Representative,
Permanent Mission of Switzerland to the United Nations in New York
Gender equality is a matter of partnership. It requires burden- and power sharing, breaking free from stereotypes and the will to adapt the narrative so that men see themselves as allies who benefit from an equitable society just as much as women do.
I support the IGC Panel Parity Pledge.
I support the IGC gender-based violence pledge.
Personal Commitments
I commit to support and accompany the numerous transfer processes of the staff of the Swiss Mission to the UN in New York for 2025 in order to contribute to gender parity by being available for advice and mentoring and by ensuring the necessary preparation with the Directorate for Resources of the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs.
During the second year of Switzerland’s membership in the UN Security Council, I commit to strengthen the Women, Peace and Security agenda through Switzerland’s co-chairship of the Informal Expert Group on WPS, by meeting regularly with women civil society representatives and amplifying their voices in the Security Council as well as by fostering the link between the Security Council, the ECOSOC and the GA, also through my role as a member of the PGA’s Advisory Board on Gender Equality.
