Pascale Baeriswyl
Ambassador and Permanent Representative,
Permanent Mission of Switzerland to the United Nations in New York

Gender equality is a matter of partnership. It requires burden- and power sharing, breaking free from stereotypes and the will to adapt the narrative so that men see themselves as allies who benefit from an equitable society just as much as women do.
I support the IGC Panel Parity Pledge.
I support the IGC gender-based violence pledge.
Personal Commitments
I commit to holding a briefing on gender equality, including on the implementation of the FDFA’s 2028 Equal Opportunities Action Plan, on gender-just language, on zero tolerance of gender-based violence, sexist attitudes and behaviour as well as on the Women, Peace and Security agenda, in view of the arrival of new staff in the summer.
I commit to put forward initiatives in the area of gender equality to strengthen the link between the GA, the ECOSOC and the Security Council, particularly in light of the 30th anniversary of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action, as well as the 25th anniversary of UN Security Council Resolution 1325 on Women, Peace and Security.
