Until all women can participate fully, our communities will never reach their full potential. I’m determined to ensure diversity and inclusion becomes a standard way of working, both through supporting our staff and through our humanitarian operations by ensuring people are at the centre of our response.
ICRC strives to reach its goal of gender parity among its managers by 2022. In 2020, through an external and critical assessment of current practices the ICRC will boost inclusive programming. This will increase women’s influence, access and participation in the humanitarian response.
In 2020, the ICRC will start a collaborative research that advances understanding of the gendered impacts of the application of international humanitarian law on groups including women and girls.
