Women play a vital role throughout the Agency, but they are still not adequately represented. For me, gender parity means 50 percent women and 50 percent men – and that is the goal I set for myself. It will be challenging, but it is not impossible.
To strengthen awareness and capacity building on gender equality, launch within the year (1) a training on gender concepts and gender parity available for all interested staff and (2) a training on gender mainstreaming for relevant staff responsible for programmatic implementation.
To strengthen the advocacy on gender, organize a high-level gender event during the Ministerial Conference on Nuclear Energy in Washington in October 2021, engaging top officials from Member States, including the US, and relevant women’s networks.
