Women have been at the forefront of many breakthroughs in disarmament and arms control efforts, yet remain underrepresented in disarmament decision-making fora. Only the full and equal participation and leadership of women in decision-making can achieve meaningful and lasting solutions to global disarmament challenges.

Personal Commitments

Champion an integrated interagency approach to the promotion of women’s empowerment and gender equality among Vienna-based UN organizations and other partners to highlight key milestones, and co-host at least one joint event with partner organizations.
Promote empowerment and career development of young women professionals in the disarmament field, including as mentor and Advisory Board member of the EUNPDC Young Women and Next Generation Initiative.
