By centering victims/survivors in all our processes, the IIIM aims to contribute to full accountability for Syrians and affected communities. This requires prioritizing accountability for gendered harms that undermine the foundations of communities, including conflict-related sexual violence and mass enforced disappearance.

Personal Commitments

I commit to ensuring the integration of a gender analysis, and centering the rights of victims and survivors, in respect of technical assistance provided by the IIIM to advance national justice efforts in Syria.
I commit to ensuring the incorporation of an intersectional gender analysis at all stages of the development and implementation of a new IIIM strategy prioritising the preservation of evidence arising out of changed circumstances in Syria.
