The idea of promoting gender equality and women's empowerment is deeply linked to respecting, defending, and promoting human rights.

The decision to present this candidacy is complemented by the institutional effort of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Chile to adopt a Feminist Foreign Policy to contribute to the elimination of obstacles that impede the progress of women and girls towards the full exercise of their autonomy and human rights.
