Involving women and young girls in the development of technology-driven tools and solutions is essential for building a more equitable society. UNICC is deeply committed to fostering the participation and leadership of women at every stage of ideation and design in the technology and digital sectors. Personally, I am determined to intensify our efforts to achieve gender parity and cultivate a more inclusive and equitable workplace.

I support the IGC Panel Parity Pledge.

I support the IGC gender-based violence pledge.

Personal Commitments

I remain committed to strengthening gender equality and gender mainstreaming across UNICC in line with the System-Wide Action Plan on Gender Equality and Women’s Empowerment (UN-SWAP), the Sustainable Development Goals—particularly SDG 5—and UNICC’s Gender Parity Strategy. To support this commitment, I will establish a Gender Steering Committee to provide strategic oversight, guidance, and coordination on gender-related initiatives. The Committee will promote a gender-responsive organizational culture, support the integration of gender perspectives into decision-making processes, and monitor progress against our gender-related objectives and commitments.
I remain committed to embedding accountability for gender equality across UNICC’s leadership, in line with the organization’s Gender Policy, Gender Parity Strategy, and the principles of the System-Wide Action Plan on Gender Equality and Women’s Empowerment (UN-SWAP). To this end, I will ensure that senior leaders include at least one gender-specific objective in their individual performance evaluations and are assessed against the achievement of this objective. This approach will reinforce leadership responsibility for advancing gender equality and ensure that progress toward our gender-related commitments is measurable, monitored, and actively driven at the senior management level.
