I personally and Gavi, more generally, are committed to the principle of gender equity and I am pleased that Gavi has joined this initiative. In addition to the specific commitments pledged below, I would like to highlight that Gavi supports the use of Human Papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine, which protects against the lead cancer in women. We are expecting through our programmatic efforts that the vaccine will have been used by 30 million girls in 40 countries by 2020.
