It should be our moral imperative to work to achieve just societies and gender equality by overcoming the barriers that prevent women and girls from reaching their full potential. The path towards achieving gender equality must necessarily take into account the intersectional forms of discrimination that disproportionately affect women of color, women with disabilities, and those based on sexual orientation and gender identity.
