Shefali Razdan Duggal
Ambassador,
US Embassy in The Netherlands
Advancing gender equity and equality is a matter of inclusion, justice, and fairness. Women’s rights – including sexual and reproductive rights – are human rights. Democracy depends fundamentally on the empowerment of women.
I support the IGC Panel Parity Pledge.
I support the IGC gender-based violence pledge.
Personal Commitments
I commit to leveraging the tools of diplomacy to work with the Netherlands and the international institutions based in The Hague to promote gender equality, protect and strengthen women’s rights, and highlight the plight of women affected by gender-based violence. This will include hosting at least one event this year in The Hague, focused on the promotion and protection of women.
I commit to using my platform as Ambassador to foster a culture that respects and promotes diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility (DEIA) at the United States Embassy and Consulate General in the Netherlands and that furthers the U.S. National Strategy on Gender Equity and Equality. I commit to implementing a U.S. Mission Panel Pledge that incorporates the importance of gender equality in U.S. diplomatic representation. I support the U.S. Mission's employee-led DEIA Council's activities that incorporate a focus on gender equality as it intersects with broader DEIA priorities.
