Tatiana Valovaya
Director-General, United Nations Office at Geneva
Tatiana Valovaya

As the first female Director-General of the United Nations Office at Geneva and having worked in male-dominated spheres during many years of my career, my ultimate goal is that women and men are granted equal opportunities in my organization and beyond. It is self-evident that we will not achieve any of our goals if half of humanity is left aside.

I support the IGC Panel Parity Pledge.

I support the IGC gender-based violence pledge.

Personal Commitments

Issue a revision of UNOG’ Policy for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women for the next period.
Contribute to UN global efforts to break down gender-based stereotypes, including by taking the photo exhibition entitled “Not a Woman’s Job?” from Geneva to other cities, such as Bern and New York. The exhibition recognizes and supports women all around the world whose profession is traditionally associated with the “man’s world”, such as entrepreneurs, film makers, politicians, security officers, airline pilots or ship captains. It highlights stories of women who contributed to breaking down deep-rooted gender stereotypes in the workplace.
