Gender equality and women’s empowerment begins with ensuring inclusive spaces and a platform for traditionally marginalized voices. Its full achievement, however, requires real listening, the building of understanding, and eventual change to decision making processes and power structures. Only through fundamental change that ensures the meaningful participation of women will we achieve the transformation we need.
